I thought today it would be fun to chat about some new products I've bought/been given over the last month. There's been a bloody lot of them and they're all relatively recent so it's a slight haul, slight first impressions. LET'S GO!
Ever since the Stillest Anna Saccone necklaces appeared online I fell in love with them. I wanted one for months and months and last month I just pretended that I could afford it and bought one! Granted, it meant that I was terrified of running out of petrol or food, but the necklace arrived and it's beautiful.
Today I want to talk to you about my May favourites. May went past so quickly, I'm slightly baffled that we're already in June. I've got a very eclectic mix this month, not just beauty favourites so let's get into it!
Today I want to talk to you about possibly my favourite palette EVER. Brace yourself, because that is one huge statement.
I talked about the Too Faced sweet peach palette very briefly in my summer essentials but I NEED to talk about it more. In fact, don't be surprised if I mention it in every post ever from now on. Maybe not every post, but a fair few.
Today I wanted to share with you one of my new favourite recipe books - The Juice Solution! It's filled with amazing juice recipes which I've been loving this Spring/Summer. It's filled with over 90 recipes which are all super tempting and delicious. These drinks always cheer me up if I'm having a down day and make me feel so much more full of energy!
Today I want to talk about some of my top summer essentials. It's suddenly become hot and AMAZING in England and I've been using theses things a lot more. This isn't just beauty, it's also home stuff - just everything I've been loving.
Today I wanted to tell you about 10 books to read this year! These 10 have either been read by me and LOVED or they're at the top of my reading list. They are by no means new, it's just 10 books which I think are fantastic. I hope you enjoy some of my recommendations!
1) The Versions of Us - Laura Barnett
2) The Hundred-Year-Old Man who climbs out of the window and disappears - Jonas Jonasson
3) Do No Harm - Henry Marsh
4) How to be a Woman - Caitlin Moran
5) Bossypants - Tina Fey
6) The Book Thief - Markus Zusak
7) Light is the new black - Rebecca Campbell
8) Not that kind of girl - Lena Dunham
9) The girl on the train - Paula Hawkins
10) The time traveler's wife - Audrey Niffenegger
As one of my new years resolutions I aimed to read 1 book per month and right now I'm pretty much on track! I find reading really soothing and great to help me relax.
I hope you're all having a great day - Love & hugs,
My favourite chum commented on one of my posts once that every beauty product I post about is expensive... and ya know what? She's bloody right. I have a slight obsession with Charlotte Tilbury, Mac, Urban Decay, Too Faced... so most of my posts will focus on these expensive brands. BUT I do still LOVE drugstore brands. What I mean by this is anything that can be purchased from Boots or Superdrug.
So... I haven't posted for just over a week. Normally I post every other day but if I'm being honest I've had a lot on my mind. It's been a hard week and I needed that time to re-cooperate and get back on my feet. I'm ready to get back into it so expect posts pretty much every day this week to make up for it!
My gorgeous friend posted the other day about the fact that she is embarking on Project 10 Pan (see her post here!) and as I read it I thought 'ya know what... I NEED TO DO THIS'. SO today I've decided that I'm not going to buy any more make up until I have finished 10 whole products. I'm on a make up spending ban!
Recently during my trip to Florence which you can read about here, I packed everything I needed in only hand luggage! I have done this quite a few times now and I feel like I've got the process down. I quickly wanted to talk to you guys about how to pack for a few days away.
My Lush favourites change relatively often so I'm sure sooner or later I'll do another Lush Favourites post and they'll all be different - but this brand is just too good! I recognize that the products are actually relatively expensive for baths... spending £4 on a bath bomb which can only be used once is a little bit expensive but that is a price I'm willing to pay, they're just so good!
I've got SO many favourites this month because I feel like I've fallen back in love with beauty and make up so make a cup of tea, pause your TV show and get comfy - I apologize NOW for the length of this post!
Today I want to talk about my top 5 things from the brand Nars! The concept of this series is that I pick a brand and then talk about 5 of their products that I love most. I wish I was able to read something like this when I started to get into make up because I remember going up to different make up counters and feeling overwhelmed with all of their products and not knowing what to look for! Hopefully this means next time you walk up to the Nars counter you'll have a couple of things to look out for.
I want to talk about 5 of the super quick and healthy snacks that I've been having for the past couple of months. I've really changed my eating habits and routine generally. I used to snack on much worse things but I've got into 'healthier' snacking. It's quick and easy because lets get real, who has time to make snacks?! Don't get me wrong, I don't snack all day long, I normally have about 1 snack a day to keep me going at about 4pm when I think I'm going to eat naughty food e.g. cake and biscuits.
Let's talk about revision. Who loves revising? no one. Okay, I like it more than I admit. But it's definitely not my favourite thing! I feel like by this point I've kind of got revising down. I know that at this point SO many people around the country are revising. I see so many students doing their revision towards their GCSEs, A-Levels, degree exams... the bunch! The first thing to note is that this is a long-ass blog post. I've written the ways that I find easiest to revise but please please please realise that everyones brains work in different ways, these things may not work for you but they're perfect for me. I just hope that this can even help one person revise!
Hi everyone, It’s me Sally from DiagonSally. Lucy and I decided to do a collaboration where we asked each other fifteen questions about ourselves. If you’re interested in reading her answers, head over to my blog at http://www.diagonsally.com
Art was one of my favourite things for the month of March because I felt I was really able to express myself creatively in my journal. I know that most people my blog posts that are about make up or exercise or...'trendy' things, but art is my passion and I love writing about it!
Recently I've been loving Instagram. As an artist I always find Instagram to be my favourite social media site to post on because, obviously - it's so visual! So I thought I'd give you a quick round up of my recent instagram posts...
I've been having a rough time recently and wanted to write some refreshing posts, that would make me feel Spring ready and refreshed. It's been a rough few months and it's SO easy to tell if I'm having a difficult time because it means that my nails are not painted.
SPRING HAS SPRUNG! Which makes me super happy. Today I want to talk to you about my current top 5 Spring make up items. I felt that my favourites this month weren't very 'favourite-ish' (this is not a word). I had quite a stressful month but now that I'm back on my feet a bit I'm falling in love with products all over again and thought I would do some sharing!
Today I wanted to share a super duper quick recipe which I have loved recently. I found it in the cookbook Persiana but this version is a tiny bit different. Their version makes pesto from scratch but I'm trying to include super quick, easy meals because when work and my degree gets crazy I need time to focus on that, rather than making a meal.
I love writing thoughtful Thursday posts because they're a bit more personal. I feel like I've said that a lot recently, but I love it. Today I want to briefly touch on some of my advice to 20 year olds. Now... at the ripe old age of 22 some of you may be thinking 'hang on a minute, how can you have advice when you're still in your early 20s?!' well... WATCH ME. You learn a lot in a couple of years and I just thought I'd share what I've learnt so far. I know I have SO much more to learn but this is just a bit of fun! Of course most of these apply to people of all ages, but it's what I've learnt in my early twenties.
So last week I had an AMAZING trip to florence from Tuesday to Thursday morning. We set off bright and early and made it to Florence by about 2pm. We then left Thursday morning at 12 so I thought I'd sum up what you can fit into 48 hours in Italy, Florence!
New type of post for me - a haul! I haven't done one of these before because it's not really my thing but I realised that I'd got lots of things recently that I was really excited about so I thought I'd do a quick post about them! Obviously this won't turn into a regular thing because this isn't really my style, but I thought it would be fun every once in a while.
I thought today I'd give you an update on my journal circle! I've been working in my colleagues book for the past 2 weeks and I'm REALLY enjoying it. Although it's been a super stressful month, doing this art work has made me feel so much better and so much more relaxed. I find it incredibly therapeutic and it's the thing I love most in the world!
Today I wanted to post my March favourites. I've actually not worn that much make up for about 3 weeks. I've had another difficult month which seems to have been a theme this year - it must change! This means I typically wear less make up because I'm stressed and it just seems like the last priority for me, so its a few more random favourites this month!
I have a silly amount of Mac lipsticks. It's just one of those things in my make up collection that is excessive. I actually gave a couple away to friends recently that I don't wear but I've still ended up with 40. HOW.
I normally don't pay much attention to what I'm eating but recently it seems to be all I'm blogging about?! That's what it feels like anyway! I thought today I'd post about what I bought from the supermarket this week - by category! This may sound like a bit of an odd post, but actually a lot of people post the odd meal that they eat but not their overall weekly shop.
Time for another Thoughtful Thursday post - they've been getting personal lately which has been very different for me, but I'm enjoying it! Today I want to write about another pain in the bum: acne. I want to talk about my story, how I helped my skin and what I use now!
Something I'm OBSESSED with, which my friends know all too well, is travel. Sometimes it can make me slightly stressed because of the change, but I love discovering new places and getting a feel of different cultures.
Today I've had a FANTASTIC day. I know that maybe I should be posting this on a Friday because it's to do with art, but it's also about how I relax and how I've spent my week end. My sister and I went around Shoreditch and looked at all of the street art and it is just AMAZING. It makes me want to move to Shoreditch and I'm SUCH a countryside girl, so that says something! I thought I'd share with you some of my absolute favourite photos from the day.
So, I'm behind. This week has been a particularly rough one so I haven't really been able to sit down and focus on writing blog posts! This means that today you are due a Wednesday, Friday AND Sunday post... get ready for some reading. This week I've been LOVING food... that sounds super odd, but I've been really loving prepping my food for lunch and making dinner because I've been putting much more effort into it. When I spoke about what I've been loving buying in the previous post I knew I wanted to follow it with some meal ideas!
Today I was driving past John Lewis when I was about to do my weekly food shop and thought to myself 'Maybe I should go and look at the YSL make up counter...' then I realised that I would not be able to walk away without my debit card screaming at me for buying MORE make up.
On Thursday I wanted to put up another more personal 'Thoughtful Thursday' post but I ended up spontaneously going rock climbing with some colleagues in the evening! Although blogging is obviously a HUGE part of my life (I post every other day) I don't want to miss fun opportunities with friends either so I postponed that post to today!
This sounds a bit odd but I want to talk about what I buy from the supermarket. My eating style has changed drastically since the 1st March. In stead of eating the lunch food at work I've been making my own lunch and taking it in. I've been trying to eat more healthily. Now, back in 2015 I WAS eating very healthily and then I got into a relationship. Obviously I don't BLAME my boyfriend what-so-ever, but because I was more relaxed and happy with him I started to eat bad food that I would never consider buying for myself before. We got into a real routine of ordering a takeaway each week end and having pizza or Indian. I obviously LOVED that, but from 1st March I knew I needed to change.
Today I thought it would be fun to talk about the best advice I would give to my younger self. I know I'm not exactly ancient, the ripe old age of 22, but I still feel that I've changed so much as a person. I think advice can be valuable at any age, so I love reading these kind of posts.
Something a bit more close to home for me today - all about art tools! Part of my job as being an art technician is to order all of the supplies and I have become slightly obsessed with trialling all of the free products recently! At the end of the day, when suppliers bring out new things I always compare them to my ultimate favourite from another company and if they're no better than I'm sticking with the old one! SO today I thought I'd share with you just a few items that are my holy grail art products.
February was a short but packed full month. I have to be honest and say there weren't many highlights but hopefully March will be better. Today I want to talk about what I've loved make up wise and then a couple of extras at the end!
Today I want to talk about my top 3 highlighters! I won't lie to you, I prefer the high end ones. I prefer the quality, the finish... all of it! I do still like drugstore products, but if you're wanting a post on cheap highlighters this is not the one for you.
