Day 12 - Tis the season to fill my belly!

Hi Friends!

Time for some more festive baking - I appear to have become obsessed! This time we are making shortbread cookies.

You will need:

-200 grams of butter
-300 grams of plain flour
-150 grams sugar
-cookie cutters
-a rolling pin
-icing

This recipe is really simple which is what I love about it! All you have to do is combine the butter and flour, making sure the butter is really soft before hand or it'll be really really hard to combine. After that add the sugar and then use your hands to work it into a ball of cookie dough! I then put the dough in the fridge for an hour.

Then it's time to cut out your shapes! I wanted to use each size of snowflake cookie cutter to be able to stack them on top of each other. I then rolled out the dough with a rolling pin to 1cm thick so that they were nice and thin to cut the shapes out!

Once they were all cut I placed them on two baking trays with baking paper. I set the oven to 130c and put them in for 20 mins.

I have to say the best icing tools to use are these ones! They come with 4 nozzle options which is really quite amazing because you can choose which ones fit for your baking plans!

I followed a rough snowflake pattern which I thought looks really cute :) I made these for my colleagues and I think they came out really well. It is possibly the easiest thing I've ever made so if you're a rubbish baker, just like I am, please give them a go!

Lots of love & hugs always - hope you're having a lovely blogmas!
