Love the skin you're in!

Hi friends,

I feel like all of my posts are going to be about how I'm keeping my new years resolutions for a while - I'm one of those people that really tries to stick to them! One of my resolutions was to get back into my skincare routine which is exactly what I've done...

I'm not exaggerating when I say I probably have about 10 unopened cleansers. How did this happen?! and probably about 10 more which are opened and only used a couple of times. I have a slight obsession! It slightly stresses me out having so much product that isn't even being used. This year I'm determined to not buy new skincare products until I've used up all of the previous ones. Right now I'm picking one cleanser, one toner, one moisturizer and one eye cream and using them up 100% before going onto the next one. The struggle is real.

For January I have been loving...

1) Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

For AGES I'd been wanting to try Bioderma but it's quite hard to get your hands on if you're in England. Well. It's not TOO difficult but they don't sell it in my town! Then this came out a few years ago and the searching stopped! It's really easy to use, feels very refreshing without feeling like I'm clogging up my skin with yet ANOTHER product. I've gone through a few bottles of these and had this one spare as a 'back up'. Back up for what? What could possibly happen that requires instant cleansing water?

2) Garnier Softening Toner

To be honest I only use this toner because it's the same brand as the cleanser... It's super softening though, the product name doesn't lie! Sometimes I feel like toners can be really harsh on the skin but this one is great!

3) Steam Cream

Okay I'm not 100% sure where you can get these but I'M OBSESSED.  I think the brand 'Steam Cream' has a website. My friend bought me one for my 19th birthday and I've been using them ever since. The tins are so cute and change regularly to different designs. It's SUCH a light moisturizer because of all of the steam involved in the making process. Any other moisturizer just feels far too thick now, I really recommend giving this one a try!

4) Environ Avst 1

My dermatologist prescribed me this cream after my Roacutane treatment and I really like it! I think there are 5 steps to the treatment, so I'm taking number 1 first and I have to go through a couple of bottles of this stuff until they step me up to number 2. This is because of the strength of the treatment but it's meant to be really good for your skin. Put it this way, if the skin doctor says I should use it, I listen. She transformed my skin and my confidence.

5) Bobbi Brown Eye Cream

The most expensive product! I was given this as a gift YEARS ago and I never used it. I'm absolutely loving it now because it feels so nice around my eye area which, lets admit, can get a little dark and puffy at times.

And that's it folks! The 5 products I've been using on my face. I'm already excited to use them all up and pull out 5 new ones. Although I'm slightly ashamed of my skincare collection, I know that the obsession comes from an underlying anxiety about having awful skin through my teenage years, so I can't be too harsh on myself!

I hope you've all had a relaxing week end.

Love & hugs,

  1. I heard Garnier Cleansing Water is a perfect dupe for Bioderma so I HAVE to try it out! I wish I was able to buy it, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I love this skincare round-up! Especially as someone who is obsessed with skincare herself hahaha <3

  2. The Garnier cleanser sounds really good, I use Bioderma right now and it's so strange that it went from being unknown in Australia to being everywhere! Before we could only get it online and from France (so difficult) whereas now they sell it in Priceline which is like the Aussie version of Boots.
