Jumping into January!

Hi Friends :)

Although I am super sick today I'm not going to let that stop me feeling super positive and excited for January! Today I'm going to be writing about my favourites from December. I love doing this at the start of every month because it lets me reflect and feel truly grateful for all the things I have!

The first thing I have to mention is the perfume alien which my lovely friend gave me for Christmas! On the perfume website it's described as a 'rich floral woody amber fragrance', which means nothing to me, so in stead of me describing it just go out and smell it for yourself, you won't be disappointed!

Makeup wise, the Charlotte Tilbury Magic foundation this month has DEFINITELY been my most used! They worked for 5 years to get a formulation that was full coverage but didn't feel heavy and I love it. t went into the Covent Garden store yesterday and I have to say it is BEAUTIFUL. The ladies who work there are SO nice and the make up artist I was talking to gave me so many samples. I can't say enough good things about this brand, they really treat their customers well.

Now, I know that normally when people do a post on their favourites they try to pick products from different brands. This month the brand I genuinely have been using the most is Charlotte Tilbury and my second favourite makeup product has been her lipstick Glastonberry, so I'm scrapping the usual rule! I bought this back in June and have used it constantly, along with her other lipsticks. It's a dark berry colour from the Matte Revolution line. I know a few people say they think the square shape is odd but it makes application easier.

My final make up favourite is the Tarte Lights Camera Flashes Mascara! I've been using this one for about 2 years now and it gives amazing results. The effect is very 'doll eye' and the packaging is pretty cool! I've been using this one and Roller Lash consistently for a couple of years but I'm pretty sure there will be a new mascara edition in my February favourites!

I've tried to use body lotion and hand cream a lot more this month. I've already raved about Wonder Hand by Zoella Beauty far too much so this time I'd like to mention Creamy Madly Dreamy. It's form the original line and comes in a 160ml tube, which is good for the price. It really softens and conditions your body and I'd highly recommend it to help with dry skin during this winter!

Another big favourite this month has been my friends. This may seem a little stupid but I had a bit of a dip towards the end of November. I can always tell when this happens because I never want to text my friends back. That sounds really stupid but I just want to disconnect from everyone and I go into a shell and hide away. This month I've reconnected with all of my favourite people and I'm so happy I got to spend time with people who I truly love!

Whose favourite music of this month HASN'T been Justin Bieber?! Come on now? Don't kid yourself! I'm trying to move past my shame and freely admit that I LOVE this album. What do you mean, Sorry and Love Yourself are my top 3! Even if you're a previous Bieber hater please give them a listen, you may change your mind!

I have a new blog that I discovered this month and it's Arielle's Something Navy! I'm slightly obsessed. Her posts are predominantly about clothing and her style which I just love! She's very classy and stylish, definitely one to add to your list of favourite bloggers!

Finally, I really got into baking this month. I've made gooey cookies, iced cookies and minced pies which I've blogged the recipes for. This month I already have a couple more baking plans because I enjoyed it so much during December! It's super therapeutic and as long as you don't eat all of your baking then it's a great way to relax!

I hope you all really enjoyed December. I know I had a fantastic Christmas break, but ready to get back into work and some new goals during January! As always, please leave any blog post requests below because it's always good to know what you'd love to read!

Love & hugs,

  1. Great post, I absolutely adore the Alien perfume! It's so feminine and floral, I have the 'Essence Absolue' edition which is a little sweeter, with honey and amber. :)

  3. Firstly, I hope you're feeling better very soon! One of my friends go to perfumes is the perfume Alien so now every time I smell it, I think of her. That Charlotte Tilbury lipstick looks so lovely, I don't own any of her products but I'd love to check them out. Not sure they sell them in Australia though which would be a shame. X

    1. Thank you - still ill so I'm praying it's gone by the end of the week! Do check out some Charlotte Tilbury stuff, I'm doing a blog post about my favourite stuff from her brand soon, because I haven't tried something of hers yet that then hasn't instantly become something I LOVE. I hope you can get them there :(

  4. Gotta love the Biebz! I'm so glad you got the chance to reconnect with your friends - I'm definitely guilty of hiding away from everyone too.

Thank you for your comment on my 2016 to do list post - get writing those letters ;)

    1. I think it's really easy to hide away when you feel you need to in stead of reaching out to friends but I'm trying!
